The Extra Info section on your booking website lets you ask clients for more details during the final step of booking online. You can add your own question, let clients upload photos, and ask for their location.
Where to Find Extra Info
To set it up in Goldie, go to Menu (☰) → Settings → Online Booking → Booking Website → Extra info.
You’ll also see these options when you set up online booking for the first time.
There are three options: Customizable Field, Photo, and Location. You can turn on any combination.
Customizable Field
The customizable field is a text box for any question you want to ask. It’s on by default, titled Message.
Field title – Change the title to match what you need, for example “Tattoo description” or “Do you have any allergies?”
Field description – Add instructions so clients know what to write.
Customizable field is required – Tick this box if clients must fill in the field before they can book.
If you turn the field off and then on again, it keeps your title and description.
Photo
Turn on Allow photo uploads to let clients add up to five photos when they book.
Once it’s on, you can tick Require at least a photo if clients must add at least one photo to complete the booking.
Location
Turn on Ask for client location to ask clients for their address, for example, if you travel to them for the service. You can also make the location required.
Photo and Location are off by default, and no fields are required unless you choose them.
What Your Clients See When Booking
The fields you turn on appear in the last step of online booking, after the client’s name, phone number, and email. Fields that aren’t required show their title followed by (optional).
The customizable field supports multiple lines and paragraphs. To add a photo, the client taps the square with the camera icon and Add photo. After each photo, a new square appears until they reach five photos.
If a field is required, the client must type at least one character, add at least one
photo, or fill in all location fields before they can book. If they skip it, an error appears, the same way it does for their name or phone number.
Viewing the Information in Goldie
You’ll find your client’s answers in Appointment details, including for pending appointments:
Location – Shown in the appointment’s Location field as a single line. Tap it to start navigating to the address.
Customizable field and photos – Shown at the bottom of the screen, along with the online booking details. Photos appear in a grid, the same way as photos you add to an appointment yourself. Tap a photo to see it in full size.
On the Goldie web app, clicking a photo opens it in a new tab.
Email Confirmations
Your client’s answers, photos, and location appear in emails for new appointments, appointment requests, and reschedules. These emails go to the account owner, admins, staff, and the client. If the client didn’t add a photo or location, the email shows "No photo added" or "No location added."
Appointment Management Page
Your clients can view their booking on the appointment management page. The address shown there depends on the location:
1. Business address – Shown if the appointment has no client location. This is the address you set in your Booking Website settings.
2. Your location – Shown if the client added a location when booking, or if you entered one in the appointment.
Examples
1. Tattoo artists – Rename the field to “Tattoo description,” make it required, and turn on photo uploads for reference images.
2. Pet groomers – Ask for the pet’s name and breed and let clients upload photos of their pet.
3. Driving instructors and mobile services – Ask for the client’s location so you know where to meet them.
4. Physical and massage therapists – Ask about allergies or other health details before the appointment.
If you need to ask clients several questions, you can also use forms, available on the Pro Plus plan.
