Goldie makes it easy to stay on top of client communication with appointment reminders — available on every plan. In this guide, you'll learn how reminders work, how to customize them, and how to stay organized, whether you send messages automatically or manually. Let's get started.
On the Starter plan, you can still create and customize reminder templates, but messages are sent manually from your own phone through your mobile carrier — there's no automated delivery.
See Do I get charged extra for reminders? for how this compares across plans. The rest of this guide focuses on Pro and Pro Plus, where reminders are sent automatically.
How Do Messages Work on Pro and Pro Plus Plans?
Goldie's Pro and Pro Plus plans offer fully automated messaging, allowing you to send appointment-related messages and reminders with ease.
Key Features:
Messages are sent from a generic phone number. A phone number will be assigned to your customer, and they will receive messages from that number.
Client replies are forwarded to the mobile number linked to your Goldie account. Be aware that client replies are also counted from your allocated quota, which resets monthly. In supported countries, replies appear directly inside Goldie instead — see Two-Way Texting overview for which countries qualify and how it actually uses fewer message credits.
Each plan includes a monthly message allowance:
Pro Plan: 500 messages/month
Pro Plus Plan: 750 messages/month
You can choose to send messages manually from your own device if preferred
Note: If the customer unsubscribed from receiving the automated reminders by mistake or intentionally, they can subscribe again by texting the same generic phone number with the keyword UNSTOP. See My client unsubscribed from the messages by mistake; how to resubscribe? for details.
How to Customize Your Message Templates
When you create a Goldie account, you'll find four default message templates:
Instant Booking Notification (sending time: Instantly, right after the appointment is created)
Your appointment with [Business Name] on [Date] at [Start time] has been booked. To pay or reschedule, visit [Appointment link] or call [Phone Number].
Reminder (sending time: customize the timing before the appointment)
Your appointment with [Business Name] on [Date] at [Start time] has been booked. To pay or reschedule, visit [Appointment link] or call [Phone Number].
Follow-up (sending time: set the message time after the appointment)
It was great seeing you yesterday. Thank you for choosing us! [Business Name]
Rebooking Reminder
Hi [Client's first name], it's a good time to rebook. Please visit [Booking link] or call [Phone number]. See you soon! [Company name]
The [Appointment link] widget included in these templates is the Appointment Management Link — it lets clients confirm, pay, reschedule, or cancel their appointment directly from the reminder, without calling you.
To customize the template:
Open the Goldie app and log in.
Go to Menu (☰) → Settings → Messages.
From the Edit message screen, you can update:
Sending Times: When the message is sent or when you're reminded to send it (if manual).
Template: Customize the message content. Use Widgets to include client name, appointment time, appointment link, business name/phone number.
Date & Time Format: Choose how dates and times appear in messages.
Default Setting: Check the box to make this the default message for new appointments.
You can also monitor credit usage while customizing templates by paying attention to the character count at the top of the editor. To optimize credit usage:
Keep the message under 160 characters to send it as one credit.
Avoid using Unicode characters or emojis, as they may double the credit consumption.
How to Add a Reminder Template to an Appointment
Open Goldie and tap an available time slot to create a new appointment.
*Note: If the default template is enabled, the reminder message will be automatically added to every new appointment.
Tap Add messages.
Select the message template you want to use.
Tap Save (top right corner).
How to Change the Date/Time Format & Language of Your Messages
Open Goldie.
Go to Menu (☰) → Settings → Messages.
Tap on a message template.
Tap Date & Time Format.
From here, you can adjust:
Date Format (e.g., DD/MM or MM/DD)
Time Format (12-hour or 24-hour)
Language of the message
*Note: If you change the language of the message, this will not automatically translate the entire message. Only the information added to the Date, Start Time, and End Time widgets will be translated.
How to Set Up the "Daily Reminder" (Manual Messaging Users Only)
The Daily Reminder helps users who send messages manually stay on track.
To enable it:
Go to Settings → App Notifications in the Goldie app.
Turn on the Daily Reminder.
Choose your preferred reminder time (default is 8:30 AM).
When Clients Reply to a Reminder
On Pro Plus (and during the Pro trial), AI Receptionist can automatically confirm an appointment when a client replies to a reminder with "Yes," "Y," "OK," or "Confirm" — no action needed from you.
Reminders Not Sending?
