Canceling your subscription vs. deleting your account — what's the difference?

Explains the difference between cancelling a subscription and deleting your Goldie account, how to do each, and what happens to your data and billing in both cases.

These are two separate actions — canceling a subscription does NOT delete your account, and deleting your account does NOT cancel your subscription or stop future charges.

Many customers ask "how do I close my account?" and mean one of two very different things. This article covers both so you can choose the right action.

Option 1: Cancel your subscription (keep your account, stop being charged)

Canceling ends your paid plan at the close of the current billing period. Your account stays active and is downgraded to the free Starter plan. Your client data, appointments, and services are preserved. You are not charged again after cancellation.

How to cancel depends on how you subscribed:

  1. iOS (App Store) — open your iPhone/iPad Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select Goldie → tap Cancel Subscription. For full Apple instructions: How to cancel an iOS subscription.

  2. Android (Google Play) — follow Google's instructions: How to cancel a Google Play subscription.

  3. Web app — sign in at app.heygoldie.com, click your name → Account → Billing, and cancel from there.

Uninstalling the Goldie app does NOT cancel your subscription. You will continue to be charged until you cancel through the method above.

What happens to Pro Plus features when you cancel?

If you are on Pro Plus, canceling reverts your account to the free Starter plan or another Pro plan at the end of the billing period. Your appointments are not lost, but Staff Member accounts are deactivated and can no longer access Goldie; they will be permanently deleted after 14 days if you don't reactivate Pro Plus.

Option 2: Delete your account (permanent — removes all data)

Deleting your account is irreversible. All data — clients, appointments, services, and staff members — is permanently deleted. Before you delete, export any data you need.

You must cancel your subscription separately before or after deleting your account. Deleting the account does not stop future charges.

To delete your account:

  1. Open Goldie and go to Menu → My Account (tap your name).

  2. Tap the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner.

  3. Tap Delete Account.

  4. Enter your password when prompted and tap Permanently delete to confirm.
