How do I set flexible hours on my calendar?

The new "Flexible Hours" feature in Goldie allows users to create custom time intervals for their working hours. This feature provides greater flexibility in managing work schedules.

How does it work:

You can adjust your working hours through various sections in the Goldie app:

  • Mobile App:
    • Go to Calendar - Day View to adjust working hours for any given day.
  • Web App:
    • Adjust hours from the Week View or via Edit User/Working Hours settings.

Working Hours Screen

When accessing the Working Hours Screen, several options are available:

  • Select a Date:
    • Tap on the date to open a monthly calendar. Select a different day, and the screen will return with the new date displayed.
  • Adjust Working Hours:
    • You can add multiple time intervals for a specific day.
    • Errors will display if there is an overlap in intervals.
  • Staff Selection:
    • For accounts with multiple staff members, you can select a staff member (not displayed on single-user accounts).
  • Set as Non-Working Day:
    • Toggle ON/OFF. If ON, Start time and End time are disabled.

The working hours for the day are displayed in the format set by the user (12 or 24-hour system), e.g., 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If the day is marked as non-working, the display will show Non-working dayPast Days: Working hours will not be displayed for days in the past.

Interaction with "Show Only the Work Schedule on the Calendar" Setting:
If you have enabled the "Show only the work schedule on the calendar" setting, it will be temporarily disabled when you adjust regular working hours. During this time, all days (working or non-working) will be displayed on the calendar.

  • Disabled Setting Notification:

    • When you adjust working hours, the setting will be disabled, and a message will be displayed:
      • "Setting temporarily disabled until [Fri, Jul 22] due to an adjustment of the regular working hours."
    • [Fri, Jul 22] represents the last day with an adjustment to working hours.
  • Returning to Regular Hours:

    • If you revert any changes to match your regular working hours (e.g., 9 AM - 6:30 PM back to 9 AM - 5 PM), the system will consider the adjustment null, and no exception will be active.
