Edit appointment requests before accepting

Learn how to change an appointment request's details before you accept it, so your client gets one notification instead of two.

If you review booking requests yourself, you no longer have to accept a request first and edit it afterward. You can now make your changes while the request is still pending, so your client receives a single notification with the final details.

Where You'll Find Edit Before Accepting

The new Edit before accepting button appears as a secondary action above Decline and Accept in both places you review a pending request: your Notifications Inbox and the Appointment details screen for a pending appointment.

To review your requests in Goldie, go to Menu (☰) → Notifications.

The button appears for pending appointment requests and pending reschedule requests. It's available when your booking acceptance is set to review requests manually — see How can I manually approve or reject appointments that my customers book online? to change that setting.

Editing a Request Before You Accept It

Tap Edit before accepting to open the request for editing, just like any other appointment. Here, you can move the appointment to a different date or time, or add a service or add-on your client left out.

When you save your changes, the request is accepted at the same time. You land on the Appointment details screen and see a Successfully accepted confirmation; there's no need to tap Accept separately afterward.

Because the edit and the acceptance happen together, your client is notified once, and that notification carries the details you saved.

The acceptance email highlights anything you changed, so your client doesn't have to compare it against their original request. Each changed field is labeled, and the new value is shown followed by the old value struck through.

Deposits, Discounts, and Loyalty

Editing before accepting behaves the same way as a regular appointment edit.

If a Deposit Has Already Been Paid

The deposit stays as it is, and the amount due is recalculated from the new total. If your edit brings the new amount below the deposit your client already paid, Goldie warns you so you can adjust before saving.

Discounts and Loyalty Campaigns

You can add discounts and loyalty campaigns to a request you edit. If you change the appointment to a date outside a campaign's period, the discount stays on the appointment — it's only removed if you remove the service it applies to.

Permissions

Editing before accepting uses the same permission as accepting and declining requests. If a team member doesn't have it, they won't see Accept, Decline, or Edit before accepting on a pending request.

To review who can accept requests in Goldie, go to Menu (☰) → Settings → Staff permissions.
