How to take payments with your device (tap-to-pay)

Great news! Tap to Pay is now available on our Android and iOS mobile apps! This innovative feature makes it faster and easier than ever before to charge your customers using your own mobile device. With just a quick tap, you can request full payment for your services.


What is the Tap to Pay feature?

The Tap to Pay feature allows business owners to accept contactless payments from clients using your own device. This feature is designed to improve the user experience by providing a quick and easy payment option. With a simple tap, your clients can make a payment, streamlining the process and making it more user-friendly.


How does Tap to Pay work?

Tap to pay is not available by default; that’s why you need a third-party payment platform. With Goldie’s Stripe integration, you will be able to take secure payments in person easily.


At checkout, your clients will be able to pay with their contactless card or directly with their digital wallet via the device’s NFC system. This payment method is 100% secure and encrypted. 


Who can use the Tap to Pay feature?

Tap to Pay on Android & iPhone makes accepting contactless payments safe and private. In addition, your business and customer data is protected thanks to the built-in security features of the iPhone.


This exclusive payment method is available to Goldie users in the US who have activated payments and are using an Apple device with an iOS 15 or higher version.

Users using an Android device with a minimum version of Android 10 or higher, located in any of the following countries: US, GB, CA, AU, NZ, SG, DE.


How to charge your customer using Tap to Pay?

If you tap on the appointment details screen, Tap on the appointment > tap Take Payment and select the preferred payment method (Tap to Pay). When you choose the Tap to Pay method, and new screen will open. The default tipping option will be 20%. 


Finally, you will activate the Tap to Pay process by tapping the Charge button.


On the iPhone:

  1. Present your iPhone to the customer.
  2. Ask the customer to turn their card horizontally and place it over the Contactless Symbol at the top of your iPhone.
  3. Hold until you see the “Done” checkmark. 


On Android:

  1. Position your phone close to your customer and allow them to tap and hold a card to the back of the phone.
  2. You will hear an audible beep once the payment is accepted, signifying a successful transaction.
