Online Booking Best Practices and Recommendations

We understand how difficult it can be sometimes to understand all settings and set a feature perfectly. In this article, we proposed a few recommendations on how to optimize your Goldie Online Booking page.

Goldie provides a customizable online booking page that allows your clients to schedule appointments 24/7, enhancing their experience and growing your business. To make the most of this feature, follow these steps to set up and customize your online booking page:

Business Details:

Make sure your business details like name, address, and phone number are up to date. This provides clarity to customers booking online. You can edit these details under Business Profile in Settings.

Steps: Menu > Online Booking > Tap on the Edit icon

Calendar Availability: 

Here, you can choose the time slots available for your clients to book online. You have the option to offer all your time slots for booking or only the time slots that are adjacent to existing appointments.

Steps: To set your calendar availability, navigate to Menu → Settings → Online booking → Booking Preferences → Calendar availability. Select your desired availability option (which applies to each day your business is open for bookings) from the following:

A. Show clients all available time slots (this is the default setting)

B. Optimized schedule - which will only show clients' time slots adjacent to existing appointments (this feature enables you to ensure that you are only booking back-to-back appointments, as long as you have at least one appointment for that day). This will limit your availability to customers.

Booking Acceptance: 

Goldie's online booking system gives you the option to automatically accept all appointment requests or to manually accept/decline them. By default, all online bookings made by your customers will be automatically accepted. 

Steps: You can edit this setting at any time by tapping on Menu → Settings → Online Booking → Booking Preferences → Bookings acceptance. Tap to select your desired approach to confirm appointments:

A. Automatically accept all appointment requests (default)

B. Manually accept or decline all appointment requests

Booking preferences:

Have you ever wondered if you are able to display your time slots using hourly time slots or 30-minute time slots? This is possible with Goldie and It’s easy to select what time slots are made available to your customers through your online booking site. 

Steps: Go to Menu (☰)  → Settings → Online booking Booking Preferences → Time slot availability.

From this menu, you can adjust how time slots are presented by choosing and setting up one of a few options:

A. According to service duration - this option means time slots shown will dynamically update based on the length of the service selected by your customer.

B. 15 minutes - time slots will be displayed in 15-minute intervals (9:00, 9:15, 9:30...).

C. 30 minutes - time slots will be displayed in 30-minute intervals (9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30...).

D. Hourly - time slots will be displayed in 1-hour intervals (9:00, 10:00, 11:00...).

Booking timeframe:

As a user of Goldie you want to be in full control of your schedule, meaning you are the one who decides when customers are able to book online. We make it easy to control when clients can book by following these steps:

Steps: Go to Menu (☰) → Settings → Online Booking → Booking preferences → Booking timeframe

You are able to select how long before the start of the appointment the customer can book. It can be hours, days, weeks, or months before. You decide.

Also, you are in full control of how long in the future clients can book. The maximum value can be 12 months in the future.

Cancellation Policy: 

Nobody likes it when customers cancel an appointment. We offer you the possibility to choose whether you allow your clients to cancel or not an appointment booked online.

Set your cancellation policy by going to Menu → Settings → Online Booking → Booking Preferences → Cancellation Policy

Customizable Fields: 

Goldie's online booking page offers customizable fields, allowing you to gather the necessary information from clients before deciding to accept an appointment. You can ask for details such as location, photos, or other appointment specifics.

To edit your online booking website, go to the Goldie Menu → Settings → Online Booking → Booking preferences.

By following these steps, you can optimize your Goldie online booking page to provide a seamless and convenient booking experience for your clients while maintaining control over your calendar and appointments.
