How can I add extra time or processing time when setting appointments?

Learn how processing time and extra time work in Goldie and how to add them to your services.

Some services need more time on your calendar than the client actually spends with you. In Goldie, you can add Processing Time or Block extra time to any service so your schedule and online booking reflect how you really work.

Processing Time vs. Extra Time

Processing Time

Processing time extends the appointment for a set amount of time while your client is busy, but you're free. It counts as part of the client's appointment, but you're available for other bookings during it.

For example, a haircut and color takes 45 minutes, and then the color needs to sit for another 45 minutes. If you add those 45 minutes as processing time, the client sees a 90-minute appointment, while the last 45 minutes stay open for booking on your calendar and online booking site.

Block Extra Time

Extra time adds a block after the service for things like cleaning up, setting up for your next client, or traveling. The client doesn't see it as part of their appointment, but it shows on your calendar and isn't available for online booking.
