Sub-Clients – Organize Your Clients Even Better

Organize families, pets, or properties under one client profile with Goldie’s new Sub-clients feature.

Updated this week

Goldie allows you to manage complex client relationships with the brand-new Sub-clients feature. Whether you're booking appointments for families, pets, or even different assets (like cars or properties), you can now organize them all under one main client profile.

For example, a mother can add her children as sub-clients, or a dog owner can add their pets.

Where to find Sub-clients:

To access the sub-clients linked to a specific client:

  1. Open a client profile.

  2. Tap on the last tab called Sub-clients.

A floating [ + ] button at the bottom allows you to add your first sub-client. This button stays visible even after sub-clients are added, so you can add more at any time.

How to Add a Sub-client

1. From the Sub-clients tab

  • Access the Goldie app and go to Menu → Clients. Tap on the client's profile and scroll down to Sub-Clients.

  • Tap on the Sub-Client menu and lastly tap the [ + ] button at the bottom of the screen.

2. From the Client profile menu

  • Tap the […] menu on the top-right of the client profile.

  • Select Add sub-client.

After saving, you'll be taken back to the Sub-clients tab, scrolled directly to the newly added sub-client.

Viewing and Managing Sub-clients

Once you've added one or more sub-clients, they’ll appear in a list sorted alphabetically (A–Z).

Each sub-client entry shows:

  • A photo (if added). If no photo is uploaded and the sub-client has a single name (e.g., "Rocky"), an initial will be displayed.

  • The sub-client's name.

  • Their relation, breed, or type — like Daughter, Golden Retriever, or Apartment.

Tapping the […] button next to any sub-client opens a menu with the following options:

  • Add appointment: Create an appointment directly for this sub-client.

  • Edit sub-client details: Update any information.

  • Delete sub-client: Removes the sub-client from the profile and all future appointments.

If a phone number is added for a sub-client, tapping on it lets you either call them directly or cancel the action.

There is no limit to how many sub-clients a main client can have.

Editing or Deleting a Sub-client

To edit a sub-client’s information:

  • Go to the Sub-clients tab.

  • Tap the […] next to the sub-client.

  • Select Edit sub-client details.

To delete a sub-client:

  • Tap […] > Delete sub-client.

  • Confirm the action. Deleting a sub-client will also remove them from all future appointments.

Sub-client Types and Fields

When adding or editing a sub-client, you'll be asked to choose a type:

  • Family member (default)

  • Pet

  • Other

Depending on the type, different fields will be available:

  • Family Member

    • Name (required)

    • Relationship (e.g., Son, Grandma)

    • Mobile phone number

    • Notes with an option to display them on appointments

  • Pet

    • Name (required)

    • Breed

    • Notes with an option to display them on appointments

  • Other

    • Name (required)

    • Type (e.g., Apartment, Vehicle)

    • Mobile phone number

    • Notes with an option to display them on appointments

If you try to save a sub-client without a name, you’ll see an error: "The sub-client name is a mandatory field."

Adding Sub-clients to Appointments

When you create or edit an appointment and select a client who has sub-clients, Goldie will ask if you want to add one or more of their sub-clients as well.

Here’s how it works:

  • A bottom sheet appears with the question: "Would you like to add sub-clients for this appointment?"

  • You can then select one or more sub-clients from the list.

  • Tap Continue to include them, or No, thanks to proceed with just the main client.

Once added:

  • The main client is shown first, followed by the selected sub-clients (A–Z).

  • If you remove the main client from the appointment, all linked sub-clients will be removed too.

Currently, you cannot remove sub-clients individually from an appointment (this may be available in a future update).

Sub-clients in Appointment Details

In the Appointment Details screen, sub-clients are displayed right below the main client. You’ll see their:

  • Photo or initial

  • Name

  • Relation, Breed, or Type (if added)

  • Notes (with a “Show more” button if the notes are long)

Tapping on a sub-client will open the parent client's profile and take you directly to the Sub-clients tab.

Syncing, Saving, and Photos

  • Sub-client information is saved and synced automatically — no separate action is needed.

  • You can upload photos for sub-clients just like you do for main clients.

  • If you change or add a photo, an internet connection is required.
