Why does my account show a negative balance?

Goldie subscribers located in the U.S., U.K., and Canada who have activated their Payments feature will have are able to see the funds they have collected from their clients. This amount will be shown as the available balance of their Goldie account.

To see the balance in Goldie, go to Menu (☰) → Payments.

When you give a client a refund, the amount you received from the transaction is returned to them. As a result, that amount of funds are are taken out from your Goldie account.

Sometimes, the amount you are refunding to a client may be greater than the available balance in your Goldie account. In this case, you still need to be able to refund your client. Goldie enables you to do this by providing any additional funds required for the refund. As a result, your Goldie account balance will become negative by whatever amount was not covered by the funds in your account.

When your account balance is negative, and new funds you earn from clients will first be used to offset the negative balance. You will begin receiving daily payouts to your bank account after you have returned to a positive balance greater than $50 USD/GBP/CAD for the U.S., U.K., and Canada, respectively.

If your balance remains negative and you issue new refunds, Goldie may transfer funds from your connected bank account into your Goldie account. When this happens, you may be required to pay an additional fee.

If your balance remains negative and you refund more clients, Goldie may be required to transfer funds into your Goldie from your connected bank account.

For Goldie subscribers located in all other countries (besides the U.S., U.K., and Canada), contact Stripe’s support team if you are experiencing issues with your account balance. To do so, visit https://support.stripe.com/ and log in with your Stripe account information.
