Verifying Your Phone Number for a Client Account

Learn how Goldie verifies a client's phone number at client-account sign-up and when changing numbers, and why each phone number can be linked to only one client account.

To keep client accounts secure, Goldie verifies a client's phone number when they create a client account and when they change the number on an existing account.

Phone Verification at Sign-Up

When a client creates an account, they enter their phone number and receive a verification code via text message. Entering that code confirms that the number belongs to them and completes the account setup.

One Account Per Phone Number

Each phone number can be linked to only one client account. Clients are matched to their appointments by phone number, so the number needs to be unique.

If someone tries to create a client account with a phone number that's already in use, they'll see a Number already in use message letting them know the number is already linked to an existing account, along with a hint of the email that account was created with (for privacy, only the first two letters of the email are shown, like em***@domain.com). From there, they can choose Contact Support or Cancel.

Changing a Phone Number

When a client updates the phone number on their account, they verify the new number with a code the same way as at sign-up. This keeps the account protected and makes sure the new number is really theirs.
