Communicate with Clients via WhatsApp in Goldie

Now you can reach your clients even more easily using WhatsApp, directly from the Goldie app! Whether you're sending a reminder or just checking in, WhatsApp gives you another quick way to stay connected.


When Does WhatsApp Show Up in Goldie?

The WhatsApp option appears in your client’s profile or when tapping their phone number only if both of these are true:

  1. You have WhatsApp installed on your phone

    • On Android, Goldie also checks if you have WhatsApp Business.

  2. The client’s phone number is valid

    • It must be a mobile number in international format, like +14155552671

    • No brackets, spaces, or dashes (e.g. avoid +1 (415) 555-2671)

    • Landlines are not supported

If these aren’t met, the “WhatsApp” button won’t appear.


Where You’ll See WhatsApp Options:


1. In the Client Profile

  • You’ll see a WhatsApp icon next to the client’s number.

  • Tap it to start a WhatsApp chat with that client instantly.

2. When You Tap a Phone Number

Tapping the client’s phone number opens a menu with these options:

  1. Call [number] – Opens your phone’s call app

  2. Send SMS – Opens your messaging app

  3. WhatsApp – Opens WhatsApp (if available)

  4. Share Contact Details – Sends the client’s name and number via your phone’s share screen

  5. Close – Closes the menu


Add a Backup Number for Clients (Secondary Phone)

Sometimes, a client doesn’t respond to their main number. You can now save a second phone number in their profile!

How it works:

  • You’ll see a field under their main number that says:
    Add secondary phone number

  • Tapping it lets you enter another phone number (like their work or personal number).

  • If the second number is added, it works just like the first one:

    • Tap to call or message

    • Tap the […] next to it to see more options

⚠️ This second number is just for you to reach them manually. It won’t receive automatic messages or reminders.


Sending Messages via WhatsApp

When you want to send a message from Goldie, like a reminder or template, and you have WhatsApp on your device, you’ll see a WhatsApp option alongside SMS.

On iPhone:

  • When it’s time to send a message, you’ll see a small popup with:

    • Send SMS

    • WhatsApp (if available)

On Android:

  • You’ll see a new menu (bottom sheet) with:

    • Send SMS

    • WhatsApp (if available)

Note: WhatsApp is shown only if you’re using the device that sends messages from Goldie (like your main phone).


Not Seeing WhatsApp?

If you don’t see WhatsApp options:

  • Make sure WhatsApp is installed on your phone

  • Check that the client’s number is in the correct format (e.g. +14155552671)

  • Confirm that the number is a mobile phone, not a landline
