Not every client books online, but every happy client can still leave you a review. You can now send a review link to any client yourself, by text, WhatsApp, email, or any app on your phone.
This article covers how to ask for a review manually. To set up automatic review emails, see How can I request customers to review? To publish, unpublish, or pin the reviews you receive, see Managing Your Reviews in Goldie.
Who Can Use It
Sending a review link is available on the Pro and Pro Plus plans, in the mobile app and the Web App. It uses the same permission as the Reviews screen, so the account owner and team members who can manage business settings will see it. If you don't have that permission, the Review option doesn't appear.
On the Starter plan, tapping Review shows you what the Pro Plan includes. You can send a review link even if Online Booking is turned off, and even if automatic Goldie Reviews emails are turned off.
Send A Review Link From A Client Profile
To ask a client for a review in Goldie, go to Menu (☰) → Clients, open the client's profile, and tap Review.
The Review screen shows one of three things, depending on where the client is:
The client hasn't had a completed appointment yet
You will see No review from [client name] yet, with a note that you can send a review request once their first appointment is completed. You can't send anything until then.
The client had an appointment but hasn't left a review
The screen shows the client's review link with two buttons:
Send opens a list of ways to send it: SMS, WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Email, and Send another way.
Copy copies the message with the link, and you will see Message copied to clipboard. Paste it anywhere you like.
SMS and WhatsApp appear when the client has a phone number saved, and Email appears when they have an email address. Each option opens the app on your phone with the client's details and a ready-to-send message that includes the link. SMS always opens your phone's messaging app, even if you normally send messages through Goldie.
Send another way opens your phone's share options, so you can use any app. If the client has no phone number or email saved, the share options open straight away when you tap Send.
If you choose Email, the subject line is "How was your visit?", and the message thanks the client for visiting your business and asks for a quick review. It is signed with your business name, or with your first name if you haven't added a business name.
After you send the link, the Review screen stays as it is, so you can send it again another way if you need to.
The client already left a review
You will see the review itself, for example, Katie left a 5★ review, with the date and the stars. You can take the same actions as on the Reviews screen, except pinning. Each client can leave one review for your business, so there is no new link to send.
The Review option doesn't appear on a blocked client's profile.
Ask For Reviews From The Reviews Screen
If you want to ask several clients in a row, start from your reviews instead of opening each profile.
To ask for reviews in Goldie, go to Menu (☰) → Online booking → Reviews and tap Ask for review.
This opens the Ask for review screen, a list of your clients with a search box. Tap a client to open the same Review screen described above, then send or copy their link.
The list includes every client except blocked clients. Clients who already left a review, or who haven't had a completed appointment yet, still appear, and their Review screen shows that.
The first time you open the Reviews screen after this update, a Get more reviews tip points you to the new button. If you don't have any clients yet, you will see the same empty screen as in Clients.
