How to Record Payments Made Outside Goldie

Learn how to record payments taken via Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, and other methods outside Goldie to keep your payment reports accurate.

Goldie now lets you record payments made outside the app, such as Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, or bank transfers, so every transaction is tracked, and your reports stay accurate.

Accepting a Payment Outside Goldie

During checkout, you'll find a new option called Paid outside Goldie in the list of payment methods. Tapping it opens the How was this paid? screen, where you can select from the following default methods: Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, and Bank transfer/Check.

If the method isn't listed, you can tap Add another method to enter a custom name (available to users with the manage payments permission). Once you've made your selection, tap Continue to complete the checkout.

Note: Gift cards cannot be purchased using alternative payment methods.

Managing Your Alternative Payment Methods

You can view, add, edit, reorder, and delete your alternative payment methods from the Payments outside Goldie screen in your payment settings.

To access this in Goldie, go to Menu (☰) → Payments Settings → Alternative payment methods.

On your first visit, the four default methods are already set up: Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, and Bank transfer/Check. Any method you add during checkout will also appear here.

Add a New Method

Tap the [+] button, enter the payment method name (up to 190 characters), and tap Save.

Edit or Delete a Method

Tap the three-dot menu () next to any method to edit its name or delete it. Keep in mind that once a transaction has been saved with a specific method, the original name will still appear in your reports — even if you rename or delete the method later.

Reorder Methods

Tap and hold any method, then drag it to your preferred position in the list.

Tracking Alternative Payments in Reports

Your payment reports now include a Breakdown by payment method section showing the top 3 methods used in the selected period, along with the percentage of total revenue and the amount earned for each. If more than 3 methods were used, tap Show more to see the full list.

A new Tips section is also shown below the breakdown, displaying your total tips for the selected period.

To view your reports, go to Menu (☰) → Reports.
