Goldie now warns you while you still have time to act, instead of only after payments have stopped.
When Your Account Needs Attention
When Stripe asks for more information, it sets a deadline for providing it. As soon as that happens, three things change in Goldie. The alert in your Payments dashboard stays pinned as you scroll, so you don't miss it.
You receive a push notification: Your payments need attention
Tapping it takes you straight to your Payments dashboard, where you can see what is missing and resolve it.
You also receive an email from [email protected] with the subject: Action needed: update your Goldie Payments account by [end date].
It lists the specific reason your account has been flagged and includes a Fix account button that opens the Stripe form where you add the missing details. If you haven't resolved it, we'll resend the push notification and email one day before the deadline.
To see what is missing in Goldie, go to Menu (☰) → Payments.
If you decide not to continue processing payments, we will still send your payouts to your bank account until your balance is cleared.
If the Deadline Passes
If you don't provide the missing details in time, we'll place your payments account on hold and notify you again.
You also receive an email with the subject: We've put your payments account on hold — here's how to fix it
While your account is on hold, opening Payments in the app takes you to a screen explaining that payment processing is disabled, with an Update account button that starts the same process.
Any money already in your balance stays safe and is sent to your bank account once your account has been validated.
Paused Payouts Now Count Too
Previously, Goldie treated an account as being on hold only when Stripe switched off card payments. In practice, Stripe sometimes pauses only your payouts while payments continue to work, and in that situation you weren't told anything was wrong.
Now, if Stripe turns off either card payments or payouts, your account is treated as on hold, and you receive the notifications described above. Card payments themselves are only stopped if Stripe stops them, so if only your payouts were paused, you can keep taking payments from clients while you sort it out.
How to Resolve It
Tap Fix account in the email, or Update account in the app, and follow the Stripe form to supply what is being asked for. The form asks only for the details that are outstanding.
If the request is for identity or business documents, Stripe Identity Verification: What to Expect explains which documents are accepted and how to avoid the most common reasons uploads get rejected.
If your account has already been closed rather than placed on hold, see Why Was My Goldie Payments Account Disabled? instead.
