The Discounts feature is a tool available to Goldie users with a paid plan (Premium and above). This feature empowers you to set discounts on services for specific time periods, enabling you to reward loyal clients.
1. Access the Discount section
To access the new Discounts feature, open the Goldie app and navigate to "Menu > Marketing" in the left navigation menu. Lastly, tap on the "Discount" section.
When you tap on the Discounts section, you'll be taken to the main Discounts screen, where you can manage their promotional offerings.
1.1 Discounts Screen
When you access the Discounts feature for the first time, you won't have any created promotions yet. Once promotions have been created, the Discounts screen transforms into a hub of promotional activity. You will see a list of the created promotions, each displaying key information at a glance. This includes the promotion's name, its value (percentage or amount off), the type of promotion, which services it covers, and its current status (e.g., active, upcoming, or ended).
2. Create a New Promotion
Creating a new promotion is a straightforward process. Tap on the + icon to set up your offer with the following fields:
- Promotion name: This is a mandatory field with a maximum of 128 characters, allowing businesses to create clear, identifiable promotion titles.
- Value: You can set the discount as either a percentage or a fixed amount off.
- Select services: By default, the promotion applies to all services, but users can customize this to specific offerings.
- Duration: You can set the start and end dates for the promotion, defining its active period.
- Ongoing promotion option: For open-ended promotions, you can set them as ongoing without an end date.
- Available for online booking: This option determines whether the promotion is visible and applicable for online bookings.
- Promotion description: An optional field where users can provide more details about the offer.
Also, the Select Services screen provides granular control over which services the promotion applies to.
3. View Promotion Details and Take Actions
Once a promotion is created, you can dive into its performance and details through the Promotion Details screen. Tap on the active promotion, and a report screen will open with the following information:
- Mini-stats: These provide at-a-glance insights into the promotion's performance, including revenue generated, total appointments booked, online bookings, total clients reached, and new clients acquired.
- Promotion status: Clearly indicates whether the promotion is active, upcoming, or ended.
- Promotion details: Displays the name, value, type, services covered, online booking availability, and duration of the promotion.
Also, you have full control over the promotions through a set of actions that are accessible via a bottom sheet menu. These actions include:
- Edit: Allows users to modify the promotion details.
- Deactivate/Activate: Provides the ability to temporarily pause or resume a promotion.
- Delete: Offers the option to permanently remove a promotion.
4. Apply Promotions in New/Edit Appointment Screen
The Discounts feature integrates into the appointment booking process. After selecting a service in the New/Edit Appointment screen, you can tap on the "Add discount" button from the bottom of the page. Once applied, a new Discounts section appears, displaying all applied discounts with their details. Also, you have the flexibility to apply both custom discounts and existing promotions, allowing for personalized offers at the point of booking.
5. Apply Promotions on the Checkout ScreenThe renamed Checkout screen (formerly Take Payment) now offers even more flexibility in applying discounts. Users can add or edit discounts at this final stage, with the ability to apply multiple promotions if desired. This last-minute discount capability can be a powerful tool for closing sales or rewarding loyal customers.
6. Reports
The impact of discounts is reflected across various reports in Goldie, ensuring businesses have a clear picture of the impact of their promotional activities. Discounts are now accounted for in:
- Appointments reports
- Payments reports
- Clients reports
- Exported reports (which now include a new "Discount applied" column)
